Middleton-in-Teesdale is a small market town in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the north side of Teesdale between Eggleston and Newbiggin, a few miles to the north-west of Barnard Castle. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
==Administration==
Middleton is administered by Durham County Council.
It is part of the Bishop Auckland parliamentary constituency, which is represented in parliament by Helen Goodman (Labour Party). It is in the North East England region, which serves as a constituency for the European Parliament. The local police force is Durham Constabulary.
